July 5, 2008 Cafe Chat question

Café Chat July 5th

Do you have a godly (woman) mentor in your life? If so, describe your relationship with her… If you don’t have a mentor, would you like one and what would you hope to gain from the relationship?

I love this question! I think mentors, or " Spiritual Mamas" are soooo important!

Blessings!

I don't have one at this time. If I had one I would like to be able to spend time with her, sharing spirtual thoughts, shopping, and be able to confine each other with the blessing of God.

I just love the Cafe Questions. Having a godly mentor is a good thing but I think they often come in more than one person.

The pastor that our church had before this one, was the closest thing that I had to a mentor. She taught our faith group and I miss it terribly! Cindi

Great question... after pondering I could do a cartwheel because I am truly BLESSED in way of Mentors.
A mentor to me is a wise soul. That Godly person you respect who LIFTS YOU AND HOLDS YOU ACCOUNTABLE TO LIVE HIGHER AND BETTER... Momma once told me most people can only count their true friends on one hand. My Mentors, true SISTERCHICK friends go well beyond that making me rich indeed.
Thank You Lord!

I have really good Christian friends but don't feel I have a mentor. A mentor is the person you can tell anything and everything to and she won't judge you or leave you but love you and be there for you with Godly advise. I have been in a Christian 12 step program and am currently praying for a mentor. I really love your site! Thanks.

I wish that I had done this ONE!
I'm thinking that too many were thinking of a mentor as someone older that could glean their wisdom and experiences, with a willing listening heart to show and guide us! It can be someone who is a sister in the Lord or a Spiritual mom or leader. The one I would have written about is one year younger(I believe) but many years wiser and more spiritual. In fact, she's become a PASTOR now!

Today, though late...I found a place that SOME of you may go that said you did not have one but would like one:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Christian_Wives_Mentorship/join

Who knows maybe Yahoo Groups have other groups with mentors but at least this was a start! I did not want to go back through each participant...looking for who has ONE or doesn't, cuz maybe others did not do this for the same reason NOT thinking that they had one! I found this connection through following a comment right here at Cafe Internet! I'd also like to say that many of you wrote beautiful tributes to your mentor!
How special that relationship that
shines through you & your words!
May God bless us with making ourselves available to someone who may need a mentor...that closeness
like Christ to share & grow in HIM
