Drops of Inspiration

Drops of Inspiration is the Internet Café's monthly writing prompt!
We should be able to see the hand of God in all things whether it be a trip to the grocery store, a rainbow, or a mishap with a toaster oven. He is always with us; always teaching us; always loving us. We encourage you to share your God experiences with us through this writing exercise.
On the first of every month there will be a new scripture, quote, photo, opening line, closing line, word, song, or video to inspire you and your objective is to write a post using that prompt and then post it on your blog! You can link back to it here by using MckLinky (not to be confused with the misbehaving Mr. Linky). Then you should place your posts exact URL in the URL section, your name in the name section, and then leave a brief comment. This is a community activity so be sure to visit others who are participating. You can join us at any time during the month.

If you have an idea for a writing prompt then you can send it to: amy@internetcafedevotions.com. I cannot guarantee that all ideas will be used but they will be considered.

We have made this writing prompt available so that women can creatively and freely discuss their thoughts and offer each other comfort and biblical direction. We do not necessarily agree with everything that is linked to our site in response to these prompts or the comments that are posted here by individuals. You can click here to read our beliefs: Internet Cafe Beliefs.

We strongly urge you to pray and seek guidance from the Father and study your bible to see if what you are reading lines up with God’s Word. This should be the case with all things. We also encourage you to use this as an opportunity to lift others up in prayer.

Blog entries can range from biblical studies or inspirational to light and humorous, however the women whose links that we post must meet with our guidelines as outlined below.

Our prompts will range from the deep and divine to the abstract and quirky–what you do with them is up to you.

Guidelines
This is open to Christian women bloggers who are in agreement with our biblical beliefs. We will not accept links to posts that are of a controversial nature or that open up doors to debate. Nor will we accept links to blogs that lean toward controversy, slander or debate in general. It is at the discretion of the Café administrators as to what will or will not be accepted.

These are the Essentials We Believe

About God - God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God. Genesis 1:1, 26-27; Genesis 3:22; Psalms 90:2; Matthew 28:19

About Jesus Christ - Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on the cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven's glory and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. Matthew 1:22-23; John 1:1-5; John 14:10-31; Romans 1:4

About the Holy Spirit - The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. As Christians, we seek to live under His control daily. II Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13; Ephesians 5:18; John 14:17

About the Bible - The Bible is God's word to us. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because God inspires it, it is the truth without error. The Bible was not written only to educate us, but to change our lives. Psalms 119:19; II Timothy 3:16

About people - People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God's creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God. This attitude, called sin, separates people from God and causes many problems in life. Genesis 1:27; Psalms 8:3-6; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1-2

About eternity - People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence. John 3:16; Romans 6:23; Romans 8:17-18; Revelation 20:15
Our Tenets of Faith are

The Inspired Scriptures - The Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are the inspired and infallible revelation of God to man and the authority of faith and conduct. This assembly accepts the Bible as the revealed will of God, as the all-sufficient rule of faith and practice, and for the purpose of maintaining general unity of our statements of faith.

The One True God - The one true God has revealed Himself as the "I Am," the Creator and Redeemer of mankind.

The Deity of Jesus - The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. The Scriptures declare His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, death, resurrection, and ascension to the right hand of God.

The Fall of Man - Man was created good and upright; however, man voluntarily transgressed and fell, and thereby, is spiritually dead and away from God.

The Salvation of Man - Man's only hope is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Salvation is by faith through grace and demonstrated in repentance.

Ordinances of the Church - Water Baptism in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost and by full immersion; and Holy Communion (The Lord's Supper), consisting of the Body and Blood, represented in the bread and the fruit of the vine.
