Susan

Born and raised in the Gulf south, Susan would surprise you with her strong Bronx sounding accent. As the mother of 5 sons, and grandmother to 3 beautiful granddaughters, Susan’s life has been quite adventurous. Married to her best friend for nearly 30 years has been the secret to her survival.

While on a business trip to San Francisco, God called her husband into full time ministry. Upon returning home he was excited to give Susan the news, and plans were put in place to relocate from the East Coast back home. One year later they began to pioneer a new church back in their hometown. During this time Susan started a vibrant women's ministry that would lead her to develop many very special relationships with Christian women, speakers, and authors over the years. After 12 years in full time pastoral service, her husband decided to step down from the public pulpit to minister more effectively to his growing family of five sons.

Six years ago Susan faced one of the most difficult challenges in her life. Her 16-year-old son was diagnosed with a brain tumor. A journey began that brought her into a new realm of childhood cancer. By God's amazing grace, her son is now on the road to being a brain tumor survivor. During this time Susan has also become an encourager for other families in similar circumstances, many which have suffered great losses.

Although her life has been marked by many twists and turns, joys and sorrows, Susan has found God to be faithful. As the title of her blog is named, Susan is Forever His.

What others are saying about Susan:

"Susan is another truly vivacious, joyful woman. She has raised 5 sons, has 3 grandchildren and has been married for 30 years. Her family is a huge source of joy for her and it shows. Even more importantly, her love for the Lord is demonstrated through joyful encouragement. "

"Everything about this beautiful saint and woman of God shows me more clearly the attributes of a Proverbs 31 woman. Of course, the entire team of P31 does but Susan should be a part of them. Her writings and interactions on the blogosphere draws us into wanting more of God & His ways in us. Susan does enrich our lives through the strength she has found in knowing Jesus and the journey as a mother & grandmother. She shares the life struggles of being with her own son as he battles & overcomes cancer & other inspirational friends that she has met, become friends with as she walks & prays with them through this same heartache & joy. She is a constant example before us of what is right & true. Her prayers and encouragements show that she is a woman seeking God. Her beliefs are REAL & unwavering. She inspires me."

"Susan is truly a woman after God's Own Heart."
