Café Chat February 28, 2009

(Hey All... It appears the Mr. Linky is fixed now :)
I enjoyed reading your comments from last week about how God has showed His love toward you. Many of you commented that it was hard to name one time, because God shows His love to you every single day. God is Love…

Today’s question was once again inspired by what I feel the Lord is teaching me in this season of my life.

Fill in the Blank. My biggest struggle/stronghold is _____________.

Sadly, I have more than one answer to fill in this blank, but if I had to choose just one answer the blank would be filled in with the word, FEAR.

The fill in the blank part is just the first part of our question today. Now answer this question with your own fill in the blank answer.
How would my life look if I no longer struggled with _______? What if I was completely free from ______ through Christ’s power…(Put your struggle/stronghold in the blank) *Try to give some very specific ways your life would be different if you no longer struggled with your above named stronghold*
Before you answer, give this question some deep thought. Honestly, if “Fear” were not a part of my life anymore, or at least if it wasn’t ruling over me I don’t really think I would recognize myself. I will try to give my answer to this question over at my blog this week in more detail.

This week we will only focus on answering how would life look without your struggle, and then next week we will focus on how we can make steps toward freedom in Christ with our struggles.

We were created to be free in Christ, let’s work toward that goal together. All things are possible through Jesus!!!

Blessings friends, Kim

Hey Ladies...

I notice that the Mr. Linky here is linking to the question from 2 weeks ago... I will try to find a way to fix it... I don't normally add the Mr. Linky, but I will see what I can do... Maybe for today just leave your answer in the comment section :) Thanks, Kim

I think Mr. Linky is fixed....

I wrote today about being in bondage to FOOD! Mine is a LONG post with 2 more links...

Kim, thanks so much for again putting this in the forefront of my escaping it!

Blessings, sweet friend!

I'm not sure yet what I "signed up" for but I am intrigued. I'm going to explore your question over at my site (and link back to you, of course). I know it's going to give me more food for thought than I can grapple with right now but I can begin. Good to "meet" you. I shall be back!

I'm pretty sure Mr. Linky is working.
I had to do a post on this. I love reading devotions/blogs that make me take a step back and confront the things that keep me in bondage.

Today's chat topic was very thought-provoking. I may have strayed from the intended format, but I believe if I could be more patient with myself and with others, many good things would follow.

my biggest struggle is unbelief. I believe God can do all things, I just don't always believe He can do them in ME. It's the struggle of thinking that if I miss something, if I don't understand all that He's trying to do and align myself with Him, He won't be able to do it. Like I must be able to comprehend what He's doing in me for it to be possible for Him to still do it.

My struggle has been fear also. Only recently the LORD has shown me that HE does not give us the spirit of fear and HE says "The Lord will fight for me, I need only to be still" Exodus 14:14. I had an issue on Friday and kept this in my mind and it worked! I am giving HIM the glory for keeping me calm. Thanks for a great post.
