People Get Ready
I don’t claim to be a financial genius, although I do make a pretty mean Excel spreadsheet. Knowing about stocks, mutual funds and portfolios isn’t my forte. While I can help you get out of debt with clever budgeting and sacrificing, I cannot guide you in your 401K decisions.
My talent has to stop somewhere, people.
But I can tell you this: Times are tough in the financial world. If CNN, CNBC or FOX News has been plastered across your TV during the last few months, that is old news to you. These difficulties we are facing, not only as a nation but throughout the entire world, will cause many to live in fear. Unemployment rates, foreclosures and claims for bankruptcy will more than likely skyrocket.
Despite those mind-boggling and disheartening thoughts, I have some good news for you.
God is still the same.
I’m fairly certain you won’t hear Jim Cramer discussing God’s supremacy on CNN’s Mad Money. I highly doubt that Anderson Cooper will encourage you have faith that God will continue to be your Provider. I’m going out on a limb here but I’m going to guess that Suze Orman won’t give you the when God closes a door, He opens a window speech. While these individuals are very intelligent, helpful and oftentimes entertaining, their information is not going to be what you need to rely on.
God’s Word is.
You see, I read somewhere that God makes sure that the birds have everything they need. That being said, there is no need to fear for we will have what we need. All He asks of us is to place Him at the forefront of our lives. To say yes to Him.
Get ready, my friends, to see God move mountains. I’m convinced that through the challenges that are ahead of us He’ll redeem souls…He’ll heal hearts…He’ll bless the poor…He’ll restore relationships…and He’ll show Himself to you in more ways than you ever dreamed possible.
It’s what He does.
And He’s so good at it.
Anyone have a story they'd like to share where God has provided, redeemed, healed, blessed or restored?
Trusting...
Cindy

Amen. God has restored my relationship with my dad. I give Him all the praise.
Oh I have a great story. A few years back when we first moved into our house it was in need of some serious repair. We had spent every last penny buying it without any extra to do so.Not long after we moved in we got a notice in the mail saying that unless we fixed the soffit area of our house(because it didn't exist in many places) our insurance company was going to cancel our house insurance. Now living in hurricane central and having a mortgage, we needed to have insurance. Oh and we only had 30 days to do it. That night after receiving the notice, the Lord woke me up out of a dead sleep at 3:00am. I decided to get up and pray. I prayed specifically for our financial problem and how we needed to fix the soffit and my husband said it would cost about $2000.00 to fix it. I handed it over to the Lord. The next morning my husband was at work and I got a phone call from a company he had worked at like 5 years prior. They called and said they were doing some sorting through their files and saw that he had a profit sharing check waiting for him for $1900.00. Almost the exact amount that we needed to fix our soffit. Here's the clincher, my husband didn't even know he had a profit sharing account with that company. Of course we both cried as we saw the goodness of God revealed once more. I'll never forget that and know that when the time comes again, and it has, He will provide once more.
Sorry about the post in a comment, but you asked LOL.
Blessings to you.
Kim
I have yet to know the outcome of my story, but know whatever the end result my God still sits on the throne.
Long story short...we've been paying two mortgages since July 2008. The home we've been trying to sell is in Iowa. The home we currently live in is in Pennsylvania. Ten days ago our realtor discovered 4,000 gallons of water burst through the upstairs bathrooms of the historical 1865 home. I can't tell you the devastation...it is enormous. We are still waiting to see what the insurance is going to pay.
I try not to worry. This situation is completely out of my control. I just continue in prayer and thanksgiving trusting my Lord will always provide.
Thanks for the stories. Wow! Keep pressin' on.
Let's hear some more :)
In June of last year, my husband's employeer let them all know that they were eliminating my husband's shift (he works in this lovely auto industry). We didn't know when this would happen or what we would do. My husband had worked there for almost 15 years. I prayed daily for God to just take care of us. Within days, by husband had an offer from an old friend of his, to come to work with him. Pay, benefits, all of it was about the same. Within 2 weeks of my husband switching jobs, his old employeer shut down his line. God's love is great, and his ability to care for us and to make sure we are taken care of in the worst of times is amazing.
We are missionaries in Slovenia and we have been having alot of financial difficulties because of the economy here in the US and the weakening dollar. We needed to come back to the states for my sisters wedding and to raise some extra support and get my health checked out. We did not have to money and we were trying to borrow the money. Long story short our missions office finance guy emailed us and said that someone had donated a good sum of money and that he was to distribute it to whomever he thought needed it and he chose to give us 5000 to purchase our tickets home. This is just one of sooooo many stories of God's provision in our lives. Just a few weeks ago we were in a car accident and God protected not only physically but also legally. Long story short on that one my husband had his passport held and we were going to leave for our just purchased flights in just a few days. It all worked out with just a fine. We could have been banned from returning to our mission field but God worked it out and just last week we got to lead my best friend, who we had been witnessing to for a year, to the Lord! Praise God, He is good
I was adopted when I was 7 years old. Satan is all about seperating us. God is all about restoring relationships. I am happy to say that this year, God is restoring my relationship with my 1st set of parents.
Amen. I have been unemployed since September and I can truly say that all my needs have been meet. Even though I get unemployment some of you know that it is nothing like getting your salary. I wake up every morning and through the Grace of God I do not have any doubts about how a bill is going to get paid. I tell my friends that I am walking in FOG(Favour Of God)I enjoy reading the devotions keep them coming.
Yes, sister. I have to add a huge, loud Texas-sized AMEN to this post. Wowzer.
Our heavenly Father has a way of taking our messes that in our eyes seem impossible to withstand and turning them into blessings that can create healing, and most importantly turn our hearts toward Him. Oh how He loves you and me! Together forever with Him, now that's a plan! Melissa
A hearty Amen to this, Cindy! Awesome devotion. We are trusting God, not man, for our finances and all our other needs.
Cindy, thanks for the reminder that God is still the same and will remain the same throughout these difficult days that we are now living. What a message of hope you brought to me today!
