Laura Lee Shaw

A disciple of Jesus Christ disguised as a wife, mom, kids’ worship leader and writer—this is how LauraLee wants her life to be defined. Her heart’s desire is for Jesus to be the One identified in every role to which God calls her.

As a wife of eighteen years, she would call her marriage “strong and solid,” yet in need of continual tweaking, (especially as it pertains to her). Under the hat of “Mom,” she has recently been convicted that her knees are a more powerful parenting tool than her voice. (No, not to karate kick the kids in the rear, but to knock her knees on the ground in prayer). In her role as a kids’ worship leader, LauraLee’s main focus is to teach youth that living out worship on life’s stage is where leading worship on the church’s stage begins. With the words, “I’m probably getting too old for this, but who cares?” written all over her face, she jumps around being a fool for Christ each Sunday, no matter how much her body talks back to her in the process.

All of these experiences are what scribble life into LauraLee’s pen as a writer. But they are only part of her story. A painful childhood filled with abuse, tragedy and dysfunction are also slices of life that end up on her paper in the form of hope. If she could share anything with a sister in Christ whose identity is wrapped up in her past circumstances, it would be this: “The Lord rescued me. Let Him rescue you too.”

“For He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redemption...”
Colossians 1:13-14
