Faith In The Fog

One morning this past week, as I drove to work the fog was so thick....you've heard the term "thick as pea soup?"---this was thicker. But as I cautiously drove, these thoughts came pouring in my heart.

Faith is sometimes like walking or driving in a thick fog. You have it, but you are cautious. Let's don't go too fast. Just creep along.

Faith in the fog,
when you can't see where you're going.
You don't know what's ahead.
You put your hands out to touch
and feel your way along
so you won't stumble and fall...
you have faith in the fog.
You keep going,
arms outstretched,
you know in your heart
it can't last forever...
searching for the light,
having faith in the fog.

Jeremiah 29:12-13 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

Circumstances happen daily that test our faith. I've been in the "testing place" much lately. But as mother said at Christmas to each of us, "Family, the Anchor holds". She was reminding us of a song. When our ship is tied to the Anchor...it will truly hold. The storms may become tumultuous around us....but the Anchor holds. The doctors report may come back hard to hear---hard to handle, but the Anchor holds. Your faith in Christ is secure. Hurtful words may come flying your way, but as I have found just this week, the Anchor holds.

I have taken my pain and heartache to the Father time and again...and He continually---without reservations---comes to my side, meets my need, calms my storm.

I have full confidence that He will do the same for you---just tie your ship tight to the Anchor with your faith fully in Christ!

Love the phrase "the Anchor holds". Sounds like you have a wise, strong mother.

The best news is that it isn't an empty phrase. Thanks for the great visual.

I love your Mother's words:

"Family, the Anchor holds"

THAT is perfect wisdom. How awesome to come from a family of faith!

I love that song! I've recently sung it again at a funeral at the families request - now THAT was singing in a fog let me tell you. I'm an emotional person, but God was faithful.

But let me tell you why I'm here commenting... God blessed me just now and He used you to do it!

Thank you my friend.
